Hello dearest Tina. . .

I just received your note regarding prayers for your neighbors. How unfortunate and very devastating it is to lose one's home; and, particularly at this time of year. I will definitely keep this family in my thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.

Additionally, I wish there weren't so many miles between us, for I would be delighted to help them in the process of rebuilding their home and lives. I'm beginning to down-size; and I have so many articles of new linens, blankets, china, small appliances, etc., that I would be willing to donate to this family during their time of crisis.

I just had a look around at your site---trying to find your mail box. You have accomplished so much with your board this year, Sweetie. I think I was among one of the first to visit your site within the first month of its development. You can be very proud of your accomplishments; and you deserve to give yourself a big pat on the back for all your efforts. You not only had to face the challenges of setting up a site, but you had so many rules, regulations, and a multitude of procedures to discover and put into place. None of this was an easy task by any stretch of the imagination.

I know how challenging Yuku was for me in the very beginning. And I had about 20 years experience working with computers and numerous programs. Yuku, however, was an entirely different concept in so many ways; but I think it is the best designed forum on the web. With its unique layout, there are so many more opportunities for individuals to meet and make long-term friendships.

The Personal Profile Page is one such example. This page is a tremendous way for individuals to tell as much, or as little, about themselves; and its so helpful in allowing participating members of all the numerous groups to get to know each other a little better.

Before I write you another novel, I'm going to bid you good night. Keep up the great work! May you and your family be blessed with a week filled with lots of sunshine, happiness, and good health.

Hello dearest Tina. . .

Thank you, Sweetie, for the lovely postcard and for always thinking of me. I've just arrived at your site; and my, how beautifully you have it decorated. You are so very talented. As always, you have something new to share with all your on-line family and friends.

Your children are beautiful; but I can't imagine how difficult it has been for your son to cope with diabetes at such an early age. And you mentioned that your daughter suffers with hypothyroidism---which I've had all my life. I've been on medication since I was 20 years old. The medication I've been prescribed since my arrival here in Ottawa, however, is like taking water. Sadly, the Canadian government does not allow Thyrolar into the country. The thyroid medication which is being administered to the patients here, however, is never consistent in quality. In fact, it has been pulled from the shelves quite frequently; but the patient is never made aware of these facts. The only way I know is by reading the pharmaceutical information frequently. At any rate, I do hope your daughter will continue to follow what is oftentimes a very rigid diet; and that she will keep it under control as much as possible.

I recall at her age being so frustrated with my weight. It seemed like even a drink of water caused me to put on weight. The diet that helped me to lose a great deal of weight was hard-boiled eggs, 1/2 grapefruit, and salad tossed with vinegar. After surviving on that for bout nine months, I didn't ever want to see another boiled egg, grapefruit or a salad. But that combination certainly helped to start the process going in the right direction. Most of adult life, I've had to watch and count calories to keep the weight in check. I've never been the type individual who could eat anything my little heart desired.

I sincerely hope your daughter will be stron-willed and try to keep her weight under control at all times. With new medicines on the market today, perhaps she will be much more fortunate than I; and not have to work so hard work 24/7 to keep her weight at the proper level.

Well, Sweetie, I'm going to check out the rest of your lovely decorations before I call it a night. I haven't been to sleep for about 36 hours, so I'm beginning to fade rapidly.

I hope you and your family had a lovely Thanksgiving Holiday, surrounded by all your family and loved ones. In the meantime, I hope you will have a week filled with lots of sunshine, happiness, and good health.
